# Collaborator Contact Details

> Where to keep the phone number, email address, and notes for the people you deal with at a collaborator.

# Collaborator Contact Details

Every collaborator carries its own contact details, so the number you need is on the record itself.

## What you can record

Open a collaborator from the **Collaborators** page and you get:

| Field | What to put in it |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Contact Phone** | The number you call for that firm |
| **Contact Email** | The address you write to |
| **Postal Address** | Where they are based |
| **VAT Number** | Their VAT registration, handy at invoicing time |
| **Notes** | Anything else worth remembering, such as the name of the person you usually speak to |

The email address is a link, so clicking it opens a new message in your mail app.

## Adding or changing them

Click **Edit Collaborator**, fill in the fields, and click **Save Changes**. Notes can also be typed straight onto the collaborator page: click the notes area, type, and save.

Clearing a field in the edit window and saving empties it on the record, so you can tidy up details that are out of date.

<Tip>
  If you deal with several people at the same firm, keep their names in **Notes** and use the phone and email fields for the main point of contact.
</Tip>

<Note>
  Collaborators and their contact details are for your reference. Nobody at a collaborator gets a login, and they cannot see anything in Arkata.
