Document Versioning
Projects often require updated versions of the same document — revised drawings, updated submissions, etc. Arkata keeps track of all versions so you never lose the history. How versioning works
- Every document starts at Version 1
- When you upload a new version of the same document, it becomes Version 2, and so on
- All previous versions are preserved and accessible
- The latest version is shown by default in the document list
Uploading a new version
- Find the document in your project’s document list
- Click on it to open the detail view
- Choose Upload New Version
- Select the updated file
- The new version is added and becomes the current one
Viewing previous versions
On the document detail view, you can see the version history. Click any previous version to download it.Why versions matter
- Audit trail: You can always see what was submitted at each point in time
- No accidental loss: Uploading a new version never deletes the old one
- Clarity: Everyone on the team sees which version is current
Version numbering is automatic. You don’t need to put “v2” in the filename — Arkata handles it.
