Task Statuses & Workflow

Every task in Arkata has a status that reflects where it is in your workflow. There are 7 possible statuses.

The 7 statuses

Status	Meaning
Not Started	Task has been created but work hasn’t begun
In Progress	Someone is actively working on it
In Review	Work is done and waiting for review
To Submit	Reviewed and ready to be submitted (e.g. to the PA)
On Hold	Paused — waiting on something external
Done	Completed
Cancelled	No longer needed

Moving between statuses

To change a task’s status, open the task and select the new status from the dropdown. Arkata enforces valid transitions — you can’t jump from any status to any other. The allowed moves follow a logical workflow. Typical flow:

Not Started → In Progress → In Review → To Submit → Done

You can also put tasks On Hold from most statuses, and move them back when the blocker is resolved. Tasks can be Cancelled from any status.

Notifications on status changes

When a task moves to In Review, the reviewer gets a notification in their inbox. When a task is assigned to someone, they also get notified. See Inbox Notifications for more on how notifications work.
