Frequently Asked Questions

General

Arkata is a web application designed for desktop use. It works in mobile browsers but the experience is best on a laptop or desktop screen.
No. Arkata is invite-only. Your firm’s administrator creates accounts for team members.
Arkata works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date.

Projects

No. The project type is set when you create the project and determines its lifecycle phases. If you chose the wrong type, create a new project with the correct type and transfer the relevant information.
The Internal Reference (INT-NNNN) is generated by Arkata automatically. The PA Reference is the official number assigned by the Planning Authority. See Project References for details.
Projects cannot be permanently deleted. You can archive them to remove them from your active list, but the data is preserved.

Documents

There’s no hard limit in Arkata, but very large files (over 100MB) may take longer to upload depending on your internet connection. Upload links expire after 10-15 minutes.
Currently, documents are downloaded individually. Bulk download is not yet available.

Billing

Sent invoices cannot be edited. If you need to make changes, cancel the invoice and generate a new one.
Waiving a line item means you’ve decided not to charge for it. The item stays on the invoice record (for transparency) but doesn’t count toward the total. You can un-waive it if you change your mind before the invoice is sent.

Email Automation

Arkata only processes ISR, RFI, RFI Reminder, and PDR emails. Other types are flagged for manual review. Also, the email must contain a reference that matches an existing project.
No. Arkata will never create clients or projects from incoming emails. The project must already exist for email automation to work.
