Use Linked Projects to connect related project records and make them easier to find together. A link appears on both project pages and does not change either project’s details, status or timeline. You can link multiple projects to the same project. For example, a Planning Application (PA) can be linked to its Minor Amendment and to multiple CMP records. On the Minor Amendment, Amends PA Reference records the planning reference it amends. Add a Linked Projects connection as well when users should be able to open the PA directly from either project. CMP records can each be linked to that same PA.
  1. Open either project and stay on the General tab.
  2. In Project Details, find Linked Projects and click Add.
  3. Search by project name, internal reference or PA reference, then select the project.
  4. Click Link.
To reference a Planning Authority case that is not in your firm’s Arkata data, search with its PA reference (PA/NNNNN/YY). If no project is found, choose Add as external project. Arkata saves the PA reference with the current project and shows an External project label in Linked Projects. Click Open in eApps to open that case. External projects are reference-only and do not appear in Arkata project search or the Projects list. The linked project appears with its reference, project type and name. If it has a PA reference, that appears below the name. Click the reference to open the other project.

On the PA, the Linked Projects section can show its Minor Amendment and multiple CMP records together:

The same relationship is visible from the Minor Amendment, where the linked PA card shows its project reference:

Click the bin icon beside the project and confirm Remove Link. This removes the connection from both project pages; neither project is changed or deleted.
