Creating a Project
A project is the central record in Arkata. It represents a single permit application, regulatory submission, or professional engagement for a client. How to create a project
- Go to Projects in the sidebar
- Click New Project
- Select the client this project belongs to (the client must already exist)
- Choose the project type (PA, RG, DNO, etc. — see Project Types)
- Fill in the project name and any other details
- Click Save
What happens when you create a project
- Arkata generates an Internal Reference automatically (e.g.
INT-0042). This is the project’s unique identifier throughout the system. - If the project type has a lifecycle, the lifecycle phases are set up automatically.
- The project starts with no documents, tasks, or billing stages — you add those as work progresses.
